Just thought I’d drop in and give you guys a heads up on a source of gold that a lot of people seem to be overlooking. It’s understandable, because for most of TBC era WoW, cooking was kind of the redheaded step child of the secondary professions, but in WOTLK, that’s all changed. The Dalaran cooking daily quests are great, and the rewards you get out of them can make you a fortune. Here’s the lowdown.
The cooking trainers in Dalaran will offer these dailies to you starting at level 65. There are 5 of them, with 1 randomly assigned every day. All of these daily quests require either Chilled Meat or Rhino Meat, so make sure to keep some handy. In addition to the meats, you’ll be sent around Dalaran on a scavenger hunt for the remaining items. Here are the locations for each of them:
Half Full Wine Glasses: The Inn for your faction, the cheese shop, the Legerdemain Lounge and Violet Hold
Aged Limburger: Basement of the cheese shop, on a table.
Jug of Wine: Also in the basement of the cheese shop.
Wild Mustard: Grassy areas within Dalaran, i.e. flightmaster’s area, central courtyard.
Infused Mushrooms: In the sewers. The arena area has a ton.
Crystalsong Carrots: Use the crystal in Runeweaver square to get down to the forest. You can find the carrots along the river and around trees.
Once you’ve got those items, combine them in the special container the NPC gave you, then turn them in. You get 1 cooking award for each turn in other than Mustard Dogs, which will get you 2 awards.
Now, what do you do with these awards? Well, this is where the money making part comes in. Choose the recipes for foods that directly affect DPS stats, then make the foods and sell them on the auction house. If you know what night the majority of your server’s big guilds raid on, put them up about 24 hours in advance and watch the money flow in.
